Monthly Community Meetings 2014-2015

Monthly meetings are held at the following locations:
Haydock Intermediate School, 647 Hill St. Oxnard, CA 93033
Rio Real Elementary School, 1140 Kenney St., Oxnard, CA 93036

MICOP's monthly community meetings are a great place to get involved and meet the MICOP staff and community members. Each meeting has a theme where we share information that is relevant to the indigenous community. We discuss immigration, driver's licenses, health and education, among other topics. We also incorporate cultural events into the yearly  meetings, including Dia de los Niños, Dia de las Madres, Dia de los Muertos and Fiesta Navideña. Food and diapers are distributed to the community at the meetings.

Volunteer opportunities include packing food bags and helping children with craft activities. We welcome your participation. To receive our latest email blasts with specific information on each meeting or if you have any questions regarding the monthly meetings, please email: micop@mixteco.org and we will add you to our list.

MICOP is a proud collaborator with Ventura County Together. VC Together is a group of local organizations providing direct assitance to meet the basics needs: Food, Health, Shelter, and the 2-1-1 information and referral telephone helpline that connects callers to services such as food pantries, counseling and housing assistance. Please click on this link to find out more about Ventura County Together: www.venturacountytogether.org

MICOP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by current IRS requirements.
Please consider donating dried pinto beans, white rice, Maseca (a specific brand of corn flour), vegetable oil and disposable diapers. MICOP provides as many of these items as funding allows, yet we still fall short on the great need the families have each month. We appreciate your help and involvement. We will send a thank you letter with our tax ID# for each donation.
